It Starts with a Flutter...

Two weeks ago, I was lying down on my tummy when I felt a sort of butterfly fluttering under my navel. It lasted around 15 minutes. The next day at around the same time, the same thing happened. I didn't really think it was the baby moving until I read a lot of other women also describing the baby's movements like little flutters in their tummy :)

A few nights ago, I was lying in bed with my hubby when I felt it again. Except this time it lasted longer. Our baby was spinning and rolling and it felt strangely great. Eddie placed his hand on my belly hoping to feel something but he couldn't. Although he said he did...a few nights after that, I was already asleep when Eddie came home late. He thought I didn't notice, but he put his hand on my belly and was talking to the baby softly, like he was trying to get his baby to move. I pretended to continue sleeping. Poor thing...hopefully the baby will start kicking soon so he can feel it too :)

We had our monthly check up this morning and our baby was happily curled up resting in my belly. As soon as the doctor saw him, she said, "Oooh! Naughty baby boy! Lying upside down!" :) Seeing as how he's so active at night, it's no wonder he's so tired during the day. We even tried to jiggle him a little to move so we could check to confirm whether he really was a boy..but no such luck. He just did a little stretch and the doctor was able to measure him. A tall 12cm at 17 weeks :)

Baking

I'm not a baker. I don't bake. The last time I attempted to bake cookies it resulted in cookie shaped pebbles which could probably seriously injure someone if I threw it at them. But then..I was only 14 and wanted to experiment. And my heart wasn't in it. I was just baking for the sake of it.

In the last few days, I've had the urge to bake. Pies, cakes, tarts, biscuits... However, seeing as how we don't have an oven at home anymore and our financial budget is pretty tight for the moment...looks like I'll just be surveying what I want to bake:

Buttermilk biscuits. Yum.

I would love to be able to bake a really moist carrot cake.

I wish lah kan - Lemon Meringue Pie

New York Cheesecake. Yum.

Upside down Pineapple cake. Just because it looks pretty :)

Apa entah nama benda ni...

And scones...oh yum...
